Monitor Academic Progress and Performance:
We monitor each student’s academic progress and performance (i.e. classroom performance) in their coursework by meeting periodically with the student and cross-checking with his/her educators at the student’s school. We collect performance data from teachers at the student’s school. These data are used for discussions with the student at the scheduled once-a-month meetings. As needed, the student is given specific recommendations and strategies for improvement.
Advise/Counsel Students on Selection and Participation in Extracurricular Activities:
We help students understand the value of, and guiding principles for, participation in outside-the-classroom activities, as well as help them with the process of selecting activities that make sense for them. We help each student to select 2-3 extracurricular activities and encourage them to participate in these activities in meaningful ways for at least a whole school year. Participation in these activities can either be done during the school year or during school breaks or both. We further help students by providing them with information about availability of other extracurricular activities.
Help Students with Academic/Career Planning and Course-Taking Sequence:
This is involves evaluating the high school course-taking sequence for each student and recommending appropriate changes. The aim here is to align the student’s course-taking sequence with his/her strengths, interests and future college/career aspirations. This will also help ensure that we can continually evaluate the strength of the student’s overall curriculum. This service is provided to 10th graders, beginning with the coursework prescribed by the high school for their first semester in 10th grade. The student’s academic performance is evaluated every semester to determine the need for making further changes in future courses.
Help Students with Preparation for Standardized Testing (SAT/ACT and TOEFL):
We will help students prepare for standardized tests. We will help students organize and prepare to take standardized tests in a timely manner.
We offer additional college preparation, counseling and coaching through a one-on-one college application consultation process starting at the beginning of 11th grade through the end of 12th grade. Throughout the consultation process, we meet with the student, virtually, at least twice a month – sometimes we meet 3-4 times, as needed. Whenever possible, we will arrange in-person meetings. The following key services are offered during this two-year period of consultation:
Student Profile:
We work with the student to create a Student Profile (containing 9th through 11th grade courses, grades, extracurricular activities, honors and awards, intended undergraduate major/minor, standardized test scores, etc.). This Student Profile will be used over the 2-year period to
Guidance on Selection of College Majors/Minors:
We evaluate the Student Profile and discuss extensively with the student. We then make recommendations regarding college majors/minors and career options.
Online College Applications :
We provide guidance on the best way (or the most competitive way) to complete all the online applications, including the Common Application, the Coalition Application, and other independent applications. We ensure consistency and accuracy in completing the online application.
College Essays :
We provide guidance, instruction and practice in writing college essays. We review all essays written by the student for “soundness” and recommend adjustments to be sure there is consistency between the online applications and the essays. This will happen as follows :
College Interview :
We help the student with the college interview preparation (if needed). Most colleges, though, do not require college interviews.
Post-Submission :
We help the student with post-submission issues and decisions such as

정기적 학사 모니터링 :

학년별 필수 시험 준비 안내 :
Provide TOEFL, SAT or ACT preparation, and making sure that all students take one TOEFL test during 10th grade, one during 11th grade and one in 12th grade. The TOEFL is a good indicator of how the student is progressing with their facility with the English language.
과 외 활동 조언 :
